Admission charged. Performers are Anndrena Belcher, Wanda Johnson, and The Dill Picklers. The Swappin' Ground (where the audience can come up on stage and share their stories) will also be open. Selma – Tale Tellin’ Festival
Stories, stories, music and more will bring laughter, suspense and melodies that warm the heart at the 2014 Alabama Tale-Tellin’ Festival Oct. 10-11. Founded by the late Selma author Kathryn Tucker Windham, the family event features three nationally known storytellers plus a vocal string band/comedy troupe from Birmingham. This year’s entertainment offers folk tales, spooky tales, sacred tales and hilarious misadventures with plenty of Appalachian heritage in the mix. Night Blooms by Margaret Baldwin
Night Blooms was written by Atlanta playwright Margaret Baldwin, her time spending summers and holidays at her grandmother’s Selma home served as inspiration.
