June 1 @ 6:00 pm
One event on June 2, 2018 at 10:00am
“Alabama is like one big front porch where folks gather on summer nights to tell tales and to talk family. Everybody, they say, is kin to everybody else–or knows somebody who is.” –Kathryn Tucker Windham.
Celebrate Kathryn Tucker Windham’s Centennial and Alabama’s Bicentennial Birthdays at the ONE BIG FRONT STORYTELLING FESTIVAL at the Kathryn Tucker Windham Museum at Coastal Alabama Community College in Thomasville on June 1st and 2nd. Enjoy great storytelling and foot-stomping and hand-clapping music at this FREE Festival by some of Alabama’s finest. Front Porch special guests include the Brio Show Choir, Charlie Lucas, Daisybelle Thomas-Quinney, Karen Dean, Wanda Johnson, and Winky Hicks and Frontier Bluegrass, along with stories from Windham’s Alabama: One Big Front Porch told by Coastal Alabama Community College Students.
While the Festival is a FREE event and is open to the public, the June 2nd noon Birthday Party Luncheon with Dilcy Windham Hilley costs $30.00 to attend. This Luncheon ticket includes a meal, a Windham Centennial Medallion, an Alabama Bicentennial PastPort book, and more. Questions and/or Reservations?
