Mississippi Symphony Orchestra

April 21, 2015 @ 7:30 pm

The Sumter County Fine Arts Council welcomes the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra this Spring. As the largest professional performing arts organization in their state, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra performs for more than 75,000 Mississippians each year at more than 120 concerts statewide. Many of their Bravo and Pops Series concerts are performed on their home stage in Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson, Mississippi, but their musical magic can be experienced in Livingston, Alabama. Critics and presenters around the country have embraced Conductor Crafton Beck’s performances in both the classical and popo repertoire. More recently his educational converts for young people have been noted as creative and dynamic. One critic wrote, “His enthusiasm exploded, propelling the orchestra to outdo their usual brilliant selves. The full house responded with wild applause and several standing ovations.”
