The second weekend in March of each year. Area residents will have the opportunity to step back in time to the 1860s in historic Gainesville. Smell the smoke, feel the thunder of the cannons, and watch the cavalry duel as Civil War re-enactors from across the state and region gather to recreate historical clashes of the American Civil War. There will also be two memorial services: one on Saturday at the Forrest Monument and the other Sunday at the Old Confederate Cemetary.
