This is the site of the murder of Mrs. Viola Liuzzo, a Detroit native and housewife, who aided with the march by transporting people who marched to Montgomery back to Selma. This memorial is located in Lowndesboro, off of US Highway 80, East next to the Wright Chapel AME Zion Church.
