About

Rikard’s Mill Historical Park, in north Monroe County, is home to a fully functioning water-powered grist mill and museum dedicated to preserving past folk traditions. The park features interactive events, a pavilion, picnic tables, and a gift shop selling cornmeal, grits, cane syrup, and other period items.

Listed on the Alabama Register of Historic Sites, Rikard’s Mill is nestled in the piney woods along the banks of the picturesque Flat Creek. The museum is dedicated to preserving past folk traditions, such as gristmilling, blacksmithing and cane syrup making, by holding many interactive events in the park each year.

The family oriented park includes picnic tables, a pavilion and an attractive lawn area. A gift shop offers grits, cornmeal, cane syrup and other period items.
