Claiborne Lake Dam Site East Park’s 500 acres contain a variety of habitats and amenities. The area near the entrance is loblolly pine plantation. Here visitors can view Summer Tanagers, Pine Warblers, Indigo Buntings, and Eastern Bluebirds in the spring and summer. Purple Martins, Northern Rough-winged and Barn swallows, and Orchard Orioles are common to the area around the museum. Wild Turkeys, Northern Mockingbirds, and Pine Warblers are year-round residents here. The site features camping at Isaac Creek Campground (with RV hookups, showers, laundry, and potable water), boat access, hiking, canoeing, and a picnic area.
