Gee’s Bend

The Quilt Collection here is the headquarters of the internationally famous Gee’s Bend quilters – they have shown their quilts as art in museums around the world. ($$) Meet the quilters to hear them tell their inspiring stories and a mini concert of their traditional songs/ You will be amazed at the humble surroundings and the stories of how the quilts they made to keep their families warm, turned into great art.

The owner is a quilter in her own right, she will be happy to show you some of her work – it is an entire different style than those features at Gee’s Bend.
