Rural Southwest Alabama offers an outstanding selection campgrounds and
outdoor activities. Here are just a few:
Foscue Park
Foscue Campground is located on Demopolis Lake near Demopolis, AL. Demopolis
Lake is the largest lake in the Black Warrior-Tombigbee system, covering
10,000 acres. Two campgrounds, many day use facilities, primitive camping
areas, and a full service marina are available. The region is excellent for
hunting, and game is plentiful. Renovations are complete at Foscue. Foscue
Campground has 54 sites in total. All sites have 50 amp service. 49 sites
have full hook-ups and 5 sites have electric and water.
Isaac Creek Campground
In Alabama's southwest hill country, Isaac Creek Campground on Claiborne
Lake has great appeal to the sportsmen, bird watcher, naturalist, or those
who just want to rest and relax.
Service Park
Service Park Campground is located on Coffeeville Lake just west of
Coffeeville, AL. The lake is the third largest in the Black Warrior and
Tombigbee system with a surface area of 8,800 acres and a length of 97
miles. The area provides excellent camping, fishing, boating, and
picnicking. Service Park Campground Offers 32 Sites with electric and water
hookups. Additional amenities include, a dump station, laundry facilities,
hot showers, and a boat ramp nearby.
Millers Ferry Campground
In Alabama's Black Prairie Belt, Miller's Ferry campground, also known as
the East Bank campground, offers excellent fishing and camping. There are
numerous crappie and bass tournaments during the year as well as festivals
and Civil War re-enactments.
Chilatchee Creek Campground
Also in Alabama's Black Prairie Belt, Chilatchee Creek Campground offers
excellent fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish. The park also
provides good bow hunting opportunities for whitetail deer and wild turkey.
Numerous fishing tournaments and annual festivals are held in the immediate
area.
Six Mile Creek
Relish the peace and quiet of Six Mile Creek Park and Campground, and relax
with a weekend of camping, boating and fishing, or just a fun filled day of
picnicking. The park also provides good bowhunting opportunities for
whitetail deer, turkey and wild hogs, and shotgun hunting for squirrel and
rabbit.
